Azafrán is a private chef and catering company based in the High Country of North Carolina, creating thoughtful, elevated food and seamless hospitality for private dinners, weddings, celebrations, and events of all sizes.

Founded in Boone in 2019, Azafrán grew from a love of travel, exceptional food, and the way a great meal brings people together. Our menus draw inspiration from the places we've traveled, while staying rooted in the ingredients, farmers, and traditions of the South and Appalachian region.

From an intimate dinner in a mountain home to a full-scale wedding, we approach every event with the same attention to detail: beautiful food, genuine hospitality, and an experience that feels personal to you.

While we're proudly based in the High Country, we regularly serve Charlotte, Asheville, the greater Carolinas, and destinations throughout the Southeast and beyond.

The name Azafrán, Spanish for saffron, was inspired by our first trip to Madrid and by Liza's Aunt Kathy, who first sparked her love of cooking, quality ingredients, and experiencing the world. Saffron's rarity and the care required to produce it reflect what we value in our own work: craftsmanship, quality, and an abundance of flavor.
